Taiwanese fitness equipment manufacturer and owner of Matrix, Horizon, Vision, BowFlex, Schwinn Fitness, and JRNY.

Peter Lo founded Johnson Health Tech in Taichung in 1975. The business began as a fitness equipment maker and supplier. It expanded from manufacturing into owned brands, international distribution, and specialty retail.

Matrix Fitness was established as the group's commercial equipment brand. Horizon and Vision built positions in consumer cardio equipment. Manufacturing scale in Taiwan and China supported sales through distributors and the group's own regional businesses.

In March 2024, BowFlex Inc., formerly Nautilus, Inc., filed for Chapter 11. Johnson Health Tech Retail agreed to act as the stalking horse bidder. The bankruptcy court approved the sale on April 15, and it closed on April 22 for $37.5 million, subject to adjustments.

The acquired assets included BowFlex, Schwinn Fitness, and JRNY, plus inventory and other operating property. Johnson Health Tech said it would integrate BowFlex and Schwinn into its North American sporting goods and e-commerce group.

In June 2025, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a recall of about 3.8 million BowFlex adjustable dumbbells after reports that weight plates could dislodge. Most units had been sold by the former Nautilus or BowFlex company. Johnson Health Tech Trading provided the recall remedy, with different terms based on whether units were sold before or after the asset acquisition.
