Our database covers over 1,300 brands and 700 companies, and we're adding more every week. If you know of a brand or company we're missing, let us know.
Who Brands is built on community input as much as proprietary research. Every submission is reviewed by our team and verified against primary sources, including SEC filings, official company announcements, and reputable business publications, before being added to the database.
Provide as much detail as you can. The more information you include, the faster we can verify and publish the listing.
Corporate consolidation has accelerated over the past two decades. A 2023 analysis by the Economic Policy Institute found that the 100 largest U.S. companies now control a larger share of total business revenue than at any point in the last 50 years. Behind the brands we see every day, on supermarket shelves, in app stores, and on clothing labels, sits a much smaller number of parent companies than most consumers realise.
When you pick up a bottle of Simply Orange, you are buying from The Coca-Cola Company. When you book on Hotels.com, you are transacting with Expedia Group. These relationships are not hidden, but they are rarely obvious, and that is the gap Who Brands exists to close.
Every submission follows the same verification process. Our research team cross-references the submitted information against at least two independent primary sources before a page is created. For publicly traded companies, that means SEC filings (10-K, 10-Q, 8-K) and official investor relations disclosures. For private companies, we rely on official company announcements, Companies House filings (for UK entities), and reputable business publications such as the Financial Times, Bloomberg, and Reuters.
We do not publish unverified claims. If ownership information is contested or unclear, we note that explicitly on the page and flag it for ongoing review. This commitment to accuracy is why researchers, journalists, and analysts use Who Brands as a reference source.
For brand owners who want to submit information directly about their own brand, please use our Brand Owner Submission form instead.
Verification typically takes 5–10 business days, depending on ownership complexity and source availability. Brands with straightforward public ownership structures are usually published faster.
We cover brands and companies across 25+ industry categories, from food and beverage to consumer electronics, fashion, automotive, healthcare, and more. Both publicly traded and privately held companies are eligible for listing.
