MotionVFX is owned by Apple Inc., which acquired the Warsaw-based company in March 2026. The brand produces plugins, templates, and visual effects tools for video editing software including Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, and Premiere Pro, and its technology is being folded into Apple Creator Studio.

Szymon Masiak founded MotionVFX in 2009 in the Polish town of Bielsko-Biala. He had worked as a 3D digital effects designer on films including Sin City and Pan's Labyrinth, and after returning to Poland he spotted a market gap for ready-made video templates that editors could drop into projects without building effects from scratch.
The company started as a one-person operation selling templates, then grew into a studio producing plugins, titles, transitions, LUTs, and effects for Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects, and Blackmagic's DaVinci Resolve. Its product naming convention, m-prefixed packs such as mInfographic, mTransition, and mFilmLook, became recognizable inside the editing community. It also built tools including mO2 for working with 3D models inside Final Cut Pro and the Design Studio extension for installing effects within FCP.
In December 2020 Masiak stepped back from daily management, selling a majority stake to an investor group and installing Andrzej Basiukiewicz and Wojciech Korpal as co-CEOs. The company relocated its base to Warsaw, grew to about 70 employees, and was generating roughly 6.8 million euros of annual revenue before the acquisition.
In January 2026 Apple announced its Creator Studio software subscription, a bundle intended to compete with Adobe's Creative Cloud. Two months later, in March 2026, Apple acquired MotionVFX outright, giving itself a library of Final Cut Pro-ready effects, AI-powered rotoscoping, 3D tracking, surface tracking, and video upscaling technology. The deal was widely read as Apple buying content and tools to deepen Creator Studio's value.

How many people work at Apple?
Apple employs approximately 164,000 people worldwide. The company designs products in-house and contracts manufacturing primarily to Foxconn, Pegatron, and other suppliers in China, Vietnam, and India.
The brand's public record is clean at the product level. Its controversies are commercial and community-facing: the 2020 ownership change and shift to investor control drew some user anxiety about direction, and the 2026 Apple acquisition raised immediate questions about whether non-Apple platform support for DaVinci Resolve and Premiere Pro would continue.
Pricing model transitions, particularly moves between perpetual licenses and subscriptions across parts of the catalog, have generated periodic user complaints typical of creative software. No recalls, regulatory actions, or legal disputes of note attach to the brand.
