Diageo: The Largest Spirits Company in the World

Diageo (LSE / NYSE: DEO) is a British multinational and the largest spirits company in the world by revenue. Headquartered in London, Diageo reported net sales of approximately $20.3 billion for FY2024 and owns an estimated 200 brands across whisky, vodka, rum, gin, beer, and wine.

The company was formed in 1997 through the merger of Guinness PLC and Grand Metropolitan PLC. What followed was one of the most aggressive acquisition campaigns in the spirits industry, assembling a portfolio that would be nearly impossible to replicate today.
