Where are Nikon cameras made?
All Nikon Z camera bodies are manufactured in Thailand as of 2025. Nikon ended domestic camera body production in Japan in 2021 after more than 70 years. The Sendai factory continues to support production engineering. High-end NIKKOR Z lenses are manufactured in Japan, mid-range lenses in Thailand, and entry-level lenses in China.

What is the Nikon Z System?
The Nikon Z System is Nikon's mirrorless camera system, launched in August 2018. It uses the Z mount, which has a 55mm inner diameter and 16mm flange distance, making it the largest and shortest full-frame mirrorless mount. The current lineup includes the Z9 ($5,499), Z8 ($3,799), Z6III ($2,199), Z5II ($1,699), Zf ($1,999), Z50II ($1,009), Zfc ($959), and Z30 ($710).
