In November 2025, the franchise renewed its PSL ownership rights for another 10-year period (2026 to 2035). The renewal followed a league-wide re-evaluation conducted by EY-MENA, which valued the Qalandars at approximately PKR 980 million per year, making them the most valuable team in the league based on combined on-field performance and organizational strength. The annual franchise fee was set at PKR 670 million.

For PSL 2026, Russell Domingo replaced long-serving Aaqib Javed as head coach. Aaqib had coached the Qalandars since 2017 and oversaw all three title runs.

The most significant controversy surrounding the Lahore Qalandars is the Rana family ownership dispute. In January 2026, a Supreme Court-appointed arbitration tribunal ruled that the 2020 transfer of majority QALCO shareholding from Fawad Rana to his brothers Atif and Sameen Rana was legally void. The tribunal found that the transfer lacked proper authorization. The brothers were ordered either to return management control to QALCO or pay approximately Rs 2.3 billion. A Lahore tribunal subsequently restored control to Fawad Rana. Atif Rana confirmed his legal team was exploring appeal options.

In March 2026, the Qalandars were involved in a ball-tampering controversy. The team conceded a five-run penalty, and Fakhar Zaman was suspended for two matches as a result of the incident.
